Kinda new to devianart, but everyone seems to have one lol. I finished this animation in one semester as an independent study at CU Denver. I used felt tip pens and sumi-ink to create the animation. I output the video in Photoshop CS3 and compiled it in Final Cut Pro. 192 drawings for 1:15 film. You can see it on Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvNiFsf5coo Please check my other sites: http://hbthingy.blogspot.com http://www.squidworks.com/yu.html I will be attending CalArts in Fall 2008 for Character Animation.

Welcome to dA, Ellen.

It's been rough on my end these last couple of weeks. My uncle's passing over the weekend didn't help matters much. But life heppens, and you've got to look ahead to brighter days.

By the way, you did that cartoon on Photoshop? Impressive. I have to invest in that version. And a new computer.
Hey Jeff,

I'm sorry about the passing of your Uncle. I read about it on your blog yesterday (I'll leave a post there as well.)

I think at times like this it may help to watch a funny movie or just something to get your mind off of things.

On a lighter note: Yup, I put together in Photoshop CS3. It has an animation feature that makes the layers into frames, and you can change the timing on each frame. I just put the photos of the drawings on seperate layers. It would probably be cheaper to get Stopmotion pro, which I think does the same thing but at a cheaper price.
Thanks for the kind words, Ellen. It's a little hard for my family now, but we're slowly getting back to something resembling normalcy. It won't ever be completely normal for a while, but a reasonable facimile. We carry on, as we must.

Congrats on getting your BFA. I hope it didn't take as long to get yours as it did to get mine (the only reason I took so long is because all the required classes I needed for my degree just happened to take place at the same times; my final semester had me taking one real class I needed, Senior Show, and two I really didn't but thoroughly enjoyed [side note, one of those classes helped me at least flesh out the core characters of Chronicles before they got to the versions I'm truly happy with]).

Don't let dA freak you out too much. A lot of great artists and creators are around these parts. You might end up making a friend or three.
Hey Ellen! Glad you have a deviantart account! :) Lovely gallery with cute little pandas!!!
